
Lake Rules
1. Observe all state and federal laws
2. All guests must be accompanied by a SCLA member
3. DO NOT feed the ducks or geese
4. Docks limited to 20' and must be approved by board
5. Label docks, boats and other floating objects with home address
6. No dumping of any materials into the lake
7. Respect others at all times
8. In case of emergency dial 911

1. Open from dawn until dusk
2. Must be at least 17 years of age or accompanied by an adult
3. No fishing on the beach
4. No pets allowed
5. No alcohol
6. No glass
7. No fires
8. No littering
9. Request that all beach goers bring cell phone in case of emergency

Fishing
1. Please practice catch and release
2. Observe all state limits and regulations
3. No minnows or live bait
4. Absolutely no transfer or stocking of fish
5. Illinois fishing license required
6. Bag limits: Bass – 6 per day < 15”, Catfish – 1 per day, Bluegill & Crappie - no limit.

Boating (please see below for current IL Boating Rules)
1. Kayaks and canoes limited to 18 feet in length
2. Fishing boats limited to 18 feet in overall length
3. Sail boats have right-of-way and are limited to 18 feet in length
4. Pontoon boats limited to 18 foot overall length
5. Electric motors only / No gasoline engines
6. Life jackets required for all boaters
7. Be aware of and practice caution around all shallow areas and sand bars

Illinois Boating Rules
Who May Operate a Vessel (625 ILCS 45/5-18) Illinois Law
Persons under the age of 10 may not operate any motorized vessel, including personal watercraft.
Persons at least 10 years old but less than 12 years old may operate a motorized vessel, including a personal watercraft, only if they accompanied by and are under the direct control of a parent, guardian, or a person at least 18 years,old designated by the parent or guardian.
Persons at least 12 years old but less than 18 years old may operate a motorized vehicle, including a personal watercraft only if:
1. They complete a boating safety course and posses a boating safety education card accepted by the Department of Natural Resources,
OR
2. They are accompanied by and under the direct control of a parent, guardian, or person at least 18 years old designated by the parent or guardian.
Persons 18 years old or older are not subject to operator age restrictions.
